5th Mobile MaxPure® sent to Haiti

On Friday, June 11 WorldWater & Solar Technologies, Inc. shipped the fifth MMP system plus a customized MMP trailer to Haiti to help people in post-earthquake Haiti. This system was purchased by International Relief Teams (IRT) and was further supported by your donations to WorldWater for Disaster Relief. The MMP will arrive in Haiti in the coming days, and will be operated by Haiti Vision. Check back for updates!

International Relief Teams & Haiti Vision Sending MMP to Haiti

In late April, 2010 International Relief Teams, in partnership with Haiti Vision, purchased a Mobile MaxPure for deployment in Haiti as part of ongoing disaster relief and recovery efforts. The deployment of additional MMPs in Haiti at this time is critical as Haiti is about to enter the rainy season, presenting grave dangers for the spread of water-born diseases such as cholera in the tent cities and elsewhere. WorldWater has begun production of the MMP system and, in partnership with Haiti Vision and International Relief Teams will be sending the solar-powered water purification system to Haiti in the coming weeks.

New Jersey Governor Christie Visits WorldWater

On Monday April 12 New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno visited WorldWater & Solar Technologies, Inc. in Princeton, NJ.

During his visit the Governor highlighted WorldWater’s innovation and hailed the Company as an example of New Jersey’s small business community, as well as the global mission of the company to deliver renewable energy and clean water to people all over the world. While at WorldWater & Solar Technologies the Governor and Lt. Governor drank water that had been purified through the Mobile MaxPure, drawing water from a nearby pond and purifying it using solar energy. Gov. Christie and Lt. Gov. Guadagno also unveiled two business develpment programs from the Partnership for Action.

On Sunday, April 2, 2010 the BBC news ran a story on the America’s Front Page section of their news service highlighting the Mobile MaxPure’s provision of clean water to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake. World Water Day

Each year the United Nations celebrates World Water Day to help increase awareness of the global water crisis. WorldWater & Solar Technologies’ line of green, sustainable, solar powered water pumping and purification systems were created to help solve many of the world’s water problems by providing distributed and portable infrastructure to provide access to clean water, purify contaiminated water and provide renewable power to the underserved areas of the world. WorldWater’s technology can purify contaminated water from wells, rivers, lakes, oceans and more.

Did you know that a 747 aircraft can carry a maximum cargo load of 125 tons? Did you know 30,000 gallons of water weighs 125 tons? The Mobile MaxPure delivers 30,000 gallons of clean water, onsite, every day using only the energy generated by the sun. That is equivilent to a 747 arriving each day with the same amount of bottled water — but for small fractions of the cost.

The MMP is onsite, operating every day, and is reliable and sustainable.

(MMP produces 30,000 g/p/d of potable water = 250,000 pounds = 125 tons = capacity of 747 aircraft)

Bon Repos, Haiti Mobile MaxPure Installed

Orphans, staff and volunteers at an orphanage in Bon Repos finally have clean water. The MMP system purchased by United Water and Rahway, NJ has successfully been installed and is working effectively. There are plans to extend the positive impact of this system by funneling clean water from the orphanage in to the neighboring villages and towns so that even more people can enjoy the benefit of pure, fresh water.

WorldWater VP in Haiti

On March 8 WorldWater VP for Operations, Michael Ingles, arrived in Haiti. He will be in Bon Repos installing a Mobile MaxPure system which will provide the people with 30,000 gallons of clean water every day, and will also provide a reliable source of renewable electricity. Bon Repos is near the epicenter of the earthquake that rocked Haiti in January 2010.

While in Haiti, Mr. Ingles will also look in on the Mobile MaxPure that has been operating in Port-au-Prince’s Delmas neighborhood since just after the earthquake, and continues to provide Red Cross teams with 30,000 gallons of clean drinking water each day, which they are distributing throughout the city to people who are still in desperate need of clean water.

Many thanks to the staff, students and volunteers of Louverture Cleary School on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince who are hosting Mr. Ingles this week.
